Milani Conceal + Perfect Smooth Finish Cream to Powder Foundation: A Review

A cream foundation that doesn’t break the bank? Yes please! This week I tried out the Milani Conceal + Perfect Smooth Finish Cream to Powder Foundation. I had heard a murmuring of approval among the beauty crowd, but I myself am always a bit wary of purchasing a cream foundation from the drugstore, simply because I find it to be one of the hardest foundations to shade match, without being able to try it on first. Thankfully Milani’s Foundation comes in for around 10 bucks U.S. So I didn’t feel bad about purchasing a couple of shades to see if I could come close. Luckily both shade 208 and shade 220 were within my (self-tanned) skin tone.

Quick Tip: As I mention in the video, many times cream foundations appear darker in the packaging than they actually are once you r swirl your fingers, a brush, or a beauty sponge in it. Just something to keep in mind when selecting a shade.

I was so surprised by the performance of this foundation. It gives almost an immediate full coverage, and if you have oily skin, rest assured that this isn’t a dewy finish. It’s not super creamy when applying, in fact it almost feels as if it instantly turns into a powder/cream hybrid as you apply to the skin. This looked really lovely, and I felt really good in this. Which makes recent high- end foundation purchases sting a bit more…. Why did I spend so much on luxury when this beauty is waiting for me in my local drugstore?
